Marijuana and Jail Time

A total of 2.3 million and counting of Americans are behind bars for the possession of marijuana. This is known to be the largest prison population in the world. Many of those people are there for nonviolent drug crimes but just for the possession of weed, even in states that had legalized it or already decriminalized it. Including a man named Ferrel Scott, who received a life sentence. Scott and many of other  people of color  have been living behind bars, while businessmen like Kevin Murphy , the CEO of a marijuana company, get rich. His company, Acreage Holdings, reported to make $12.9 million in revenue.  Most legal pot industries are run by mostly white men and pharmacies. They are expected to take in at least $45 billion in revenue in 2024 from all sales. But it was not till recently Senator Corey Booker introduced a bill that freed thousands of inmates incarcerated for drug use and possession. But not everyone. For the longest people were abandon behind bars for the same reas

Impeachment Update (To My Knowledge)

The following is my guide to my understanding of the undergoing Presidents Donald Trump  impeachment. The reason why President Trump is even facing an impeachment inquiry is due to something called “Trump Ukraine Scandal” that began in September of 2019 when a intelligent officer has filed a whistleblower complaint. The CIA agent reported a phone call made in July 2019 between President Trump and the Ukrainian President Zelensky set of triggers that raised alarm and concern in the intelligence community. Basically the phone call consisted Of Trump wanting to take advantage of his office powers to solicit interference from foreign countries in his 2020 election. The CIA agent also learned possible cover ups from the White House where multiple U.S officials had planned to “lock down” any records of the phone call. Which if anything made the CIA agent more suspicious and understood that they knew whatever was spoken in the phone call was wrong. Since then on September 25th the Whit

The Media is Fake?

In a recent interview by CNN, Cary Poarch speaks about him being a "whistleblower" and what a nightmare it is. The author of the blog post, informs the readers that CNN employees casually confirms anti-Trump bias and to only focus impeachment even at the expense of other more important news. And to be more aware of the disturbing networks dishonesty. Readers can find out more at Foxnews. The author's primary focus is to warn people not to believe everything you see in the media. Because it is only there to distract people. Like for example, the impeachment of President Trump. In ways I agree with the writer, I believe it is always important to be mindful of what you read, or see, given by the media. But also I find it ironic that people only rely on CNN for national news when it is known to be mainstream. The author adds "Expose CNN" as if this specific media isn't blatant bias. And that CNN was responsible for increasing Donald Trump's fame.

TRUMP LIES

In this political analysis by Philip Bump “Trump’s arguments about the wall are mostly exaggerated or false” is about Trump's push for the wall on the border of Mexico. Bump argues that you should not believe what Trump is saying is true by Trump's statement “Need to stop Drugs, Human Trafficking, Gang Members & Criminals from coming into our Country,” Bump gives statistics and surveys to help support why that statement is not entirely true for each of the following stated above. I agree with Bump in the uselessness of a wall being built for the sole purpose to leave out immigrants but I feel like it is more than that, which Bump fails to state clearly and misses the point. The author believes people are perplexed by the weird obsession people have to build a wall for border security but that is not the issue. The real issue is demographic changes. The wall can be seen as a psychological barrier than a physical one. It comes from fears of racist and whites losing their majo

The United States Hate Women Except Austin Texas

In recent news, nine states have banned the rights of women on abortion. But not Austin Texas!  Austin became the first city in the nation to approve fundings to help women have better access to abortions. Provided by ABC7 "Austin will provide city funds to ease access to abortion.” By Caroline, Kelley (CNN) In this article, it says as of 2020 the city will set aside in their budget $150,000 "logistical and supportive services for abortion access" such as "transportation, childcare, case management, and other services as needed even abortion.”  "Pro-lifers" believe that abortion rights advocates want to kill babies for hostile reasons, but the fact is that abortions can be a medical need. Medical decisions should be made by patients with their doctors and with their families. Neither the government nor the anti-abortion group should be involved in those decisions. What Austin is doing is inspirational. And this article is informative with what
